Hello all, hope you all had a great week....can you believe I've nearly been blogging now for three months? I'm finally starting to find my own feet as so to speak..with all this blogging business and have lots of ideas for the future of my blog. Today I start with a new feature called *I loved you this week because* it will basically show you the products I loved that week and why. I hope to incorporate other series's...mainly for the sense of familiarity and to weave a link between the products mentioned. This week I also started my *In the spotlight* special as well. Exciting times lay ahead.......so without further ado, here are my favourite products I've been using this week in no particular order.
Botanics Radiant Youth Microdermabrasion Polish I'm quite an easy girl when it comes to lots of things...but I'm very fussy when it comes to facial scrubs....they can't be too watery...or too thick...because I wear make-up everyday..I do find I need to use a facial scrub at least three times a week otherwise my skin becomes very congested and prone to blemishes. I use to use the Dr Brandt Microdembrasion due to working at a certain beauty store but now I am no longer there...even though it's an amazing product.....I can't justify spending the money..when I have other household things to buy. Botanic's first came to my attention when I read about it on someones blog although I can't remember whose *sorry* They gave it rave reviews....and I knew it was something I needed to try. It's quite a dry scrub...in the sense it does feel quite gritty in texture..but don't let this put you off as it's not in the slightest bit harsh at all. My skin looks much fresher after I have used this product..it really is a beauty steal and worth it's weight in gold!
Maybelline Fit Me Powder This powder is really good value for money, practical as it comes with a flippable lid with a puff underneath and it really does help to keep your face shine free. More importantly it keeps you face shine free AND it doesn't make you look make-up look cakey...a la Baby Jane!! Personally, the main problem I've found with other powders I've used, is they seem to turn my skin a much darker shade!! This powder doesn't alter your skin tone in the slightest..so this was a big plus for me. I also like the clicking noise it makes when you open and close the packaging.
For some strange reason this seems to annoy everyone else though....*tough!*
Maybelline Dream Soft Blush I find I am able to forgone certain make-up...like not wearing eye shadows or lipsticks.
.....but I find I have to wear blusher or my face looks really round and I also look really ill! For me personally I don't like my make-up to look matte..I prefer to look slightly *sweaty but in a good way..than look matte!! I try to look fresh and hopefully radiant, a healthy looking glow..... well that what I try to do..I don't know if I succeed though!!...this is where this blusher comes in. It's so easy to blend on your skin and doesn't disturb your base.. that's happened to me in the past when using other blushers...you get the base right....dab your blusher on and the arrghhhhh. I can tell you now this beauty doesn't disturb you base at all. It sits perfectly on top...and makes your skin look really healthy and glowly..If you are currently using a powder blusher at the moment..I would try a cream blusher..regardless of your age or skin type...cream blushers..look more natural on the skin ( this is my opinion, of course I don't have scientific evidence to back it up!!) I think if you took the plunge....you would see the difference. Colour wise, I like pink cream blushers..my parent are Irish and I have dark hair but very fair skin...so pink makes me look alive BUT this colour suits ALL skin tones, sometimes..
I know cosmetics can look really bright and scary looking in their pots...but don't be off by this. Try the tester's in stores or ask for advice from a Sales Advisor...most of these guys are trained make-up artists who supplement their income when their not on shoots by working part time in beauty stores/counters. So make the most of them.
Well that's what I've been loving this week............what about you guys?
